Why Jon is not allowed a credit card - Part 2

Luckily for us it didn't look like there had been too many customers through ahead of us  (their loss!) and we immediately saw that a fantastic (and huge) painting that I'd always liked (and seen in another orienteering friend's home where it was on loan), had been returned to Janet and it was available for sale.  We had to have it..and Janet was happy to strike a deal.  So 2 minutes in, it was ours - yay!   

Our thoughts immediately turned to how on earth we were going to  get it home - it was almost bigger than the car and we were going to need a trailer.  luckily Janet and Renny have a special Art-Delivery trailer which they generously offered to lend to us - so while Jon went to check it out, the kids and I fossicked through the other art and chose a couple of small pictures for the Green Room (not the best of images below).

Then we strayed a little further and came across another stunning (and also huge) painting, quite different from the first.  But it was hung in the hallway and didn't look like it was officially for sale - however when Janet returned she said she was happy to divest herself of that piece as well to make way for new art,  so we struck another deal for the lot and we were ready to go - feeling delighted, indulgent and very lucky to have been able to get all those awesome pictures.  

Jon had hatched a plan to pick up the art and the trailer on Monday (and conveniently, our new ikea table which had been delivered to a near by suburb).

After my initial shock it turned out Jon did not need to fear too much recrimination - I really liked the extra pieces he bought - one was a canvas that Jett specifically liked, and the other was a 'sister' piece to the one we bought first..
