This is why Jon isn't allowed his own credit card

As I left for work this morning I bumped into an Australia Post delivery guy coming down the drive to deliver an alarmingly large box to our door.  He said he was relieved we were home as he didn't really want to spend the day with the huge box in the back of his station wagon.

So that meant the cat-tree had arrived. Something Jon had ordered last week and we'd been expecting. Cool.  I have to admit I didn't pay too much attention to the purchase, it just sounded like a good idea.

Just as I said thanks to the delivery guy he said hang on… and went to get the OTHER huge box from the car. i.e. box 2 of 2. Good grief!   You know when you buy shelves or something from Ikea, and the flatpack box looks amazingly small? Well these two boxes were very big, and very heavy. Uh Oh.  Nevertheless I didn't have time to think too much about it, a cartoon about slugs in space awaited my attention at work.

When I returned at 6pm Jon and Zali were hard at assembly.  And as I feared it was turning out to be massive..and the instructions were somewhat extensive...

You'll note that Jon is standing on a box in order to reach the top parts. And in the same photo, Zali is standing, not kneeling, so Pinto is actually quite high up, as she realised a few moments later while I still had my camera in my hand...

"what the…. "

"seriously have you seen that drop?? "

"wake me up when the situation has changed….."

Anyway - so onwards went the build.. until finally, a number of hours later.. the kitten was rescued from her hammock, and the tree (forest really) was complete:

Which is when Jon revealed he'd actually bought TWO cat trees, the one behind them was just the first one, and the other one had been delivered today as well...

Which is when I left them to it..
