Heaps of people have asked us why on earth we would want to visit Norway in the middle of a cold dark winter. But look..there's nothing dark about this..
..and what could be better than beautiful freshly groomed tracks through snow-covered norwegian forests in -5 degrees and sunshine?
We are very lucky to be surrounded by Norwegian ski experts who got us sorted with equipment, wax, clothes, technique & even hot chocolate. Otherwise this whole thing would have been a lot more difficult. In fact even negotiating the ice-covered roads to get up to the local trail head would have been beyond our capabilities today. We are very lucky.
Jett struggled a little to begin with, but then got going after a while. In the end they both looked pretty good for kids who have never been on skis before.
After a few hours of skiing there was time to have some fun on the nearby toboggan slope..
I hope we get some more days like this during our holiday, but if not that's ok - it's already been as great as I could have hoped for.
