In what I'm sure will be my weekend highlight, today we went to watch 'gymfest' - which is an annual performance the gymnastics club puts on with all the kids enrolled in all the different levels and classes at our nearby gymnastics centre (btw for anyone who is teetering on the brink of moving to Tassie and just needs something extra to get them over the line - it's about to become one of Australia's finest gymnastics centres when the new building opens next door in a few weeks time). Anyway - back to the kids - we watched performances from all age groups - from really good teenagers down to kids who've only just come graduated from playgroup. It was great - I really enjoyed it - I'd take ten of these over one school assembly anyday. Zali & Miley were part of a mini Ali Baba routine which involved a few minutes of sword waving and hankerchief flapping before they went to show off their skills on the apparartus (see photo on the right where Zali about to execute her front flyaway to back-twisting pak-salto dismount). cough cough.
