This morning before orienteering we went up the mountain to check out the snow. As far as the kids were concerned, any snow is good snow so despite the fact that it was certainly a lot more patchy than a fortnight ago when the roads were closed to the top, they enjoyed themselves with the basics of snowman building and snowball throwing.
I had planned to have some photos of the area where we went orienteering today as it combined two of my freaky sports - orienteering, and frisbee. Actually frisbee-golf which although I've never done seriously I do enjoy the occasionally round of park frisbee golf. Unfortunately for me about 3 minutes into the race I got stuck for a long time in an unmarked forest of blackberries which totally took the fun out of the whole event - so I was way too sulky after the event to get out my frisbee.
