Last weekend was the first time we had been camping in two years and I have to admit that I'd been putting it off a bit what with the packing and unpacking and kid wrangling and stuff. This weekend however I've discovered it is SO much easier now the kids are older. In fact, it's not just easier, it's actually really fun. Jett in particular is more fun as he's also lost most of his water phobia which quite frankly made him a bit of a party-pooper whenever we went to the beach. Now he's the first to get all his clothes wet when only paddling up to ankles is allowed.
As I've mentioned in recent posts, we were in St Helens for my favourite orienteering weekend of the year - the weather is still nice, the East Coast beaches are beautiful, the orienteering is excellent, the weekend is long due to a public holiday on Monday and we don't have any of the stresses we'd have on a similar long weekend in Sydney (i.e. traffic trafffic traffic). Also the orienteering costs $7 per day which is fantastic. I know Clare has mentioned it on her blog recently, but living in Tassie is great.
