Lovely Jett

Jett is a delight to be with at the moment - he chatters away and zooms around the house with his toys and gets excited at everything and generally expresses all his emotions on the outside. And then he sleeps like an angel.  Then, unlike Zali (who is of course lovely too in her own way) , Jett bounces out of bed as sunny as you like and begins each day with enthusiasm. He's snuggly and is liberal with his hugs and kisses (at least with family members). 

Which makes it completely bemusing that the gang of cousins (and I'm including Zali as she is definitely a member and occasional ringleader of this gang) spend an inordinate amount of time plotting against him.  This is probably partly because he is the youngest and doesn't quite get all their games yet and partly because the elder ones are at that planmaking and plotting age.  Traps are set at doorways (sometimes as simple as the strategic placement of our little soccer goals or more complicated things involving water and/or string) and complicated plans are devised which generally end up with Jett being left out of something or somewhere. Just yesterday one of the gang came up to Jett (moments after he arrived) and whispered menacingly "I've got a great game..... It's called you leave!" .  Luckily, being a bit younger, Jett doesn't pick up on most of the menace and if he finds himself left out he'll just blithely attempt to get himself involved again.  The other night during a sleepover I found him dragging his doona down the hallway to the other bedroom to where the gang who had abandonned him had relocated to. 

Anyway I'm sure it's just a phase and I'm reassured by the fact that as soon as Jamie is old enough to become a target, the gang of cousins will most certainly have an extra member.
