Of course it turned out the bridge was almost at the top of the hill. So it took us about 1/2 an hour to walk up there (sorry kids!), and I forgot that the frozen waterfall doesn't look as spectacular when it is just covered with snow. ooops.  That's the bridge on the left (with Jon, Zali and Jett), and the non-spectacular waterfall on the right..

Zali was especially disappointed at the top as she was hoping to add to her very temporary collection of icicles, but she couldn't reach any from the bridge. Luckily we found this really cool spot on the way down where we could walk right down to the river and stand on the ice and look up and around at the frozen bit of waterfall. The shapes and patterns were awesome - a lot like limestone cave formations really.

The only comfort the kids could take from the walk being three times longer than I had expected it to be was that they missed out on being walked down to the town centre which they were dreading for some reason, despite it being really pretty - I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to take any photos as I walked through the mall the other day.  Although it was a case of swings and roundabouts as Jett has also developed a bit of a taste for Norwegian cafes so he was a bit disappointed we wouldn't be passing any of those anymore either as we had to scoot back home for dinner.
