Yesterday was a very long day. I think it was actually 3 days joined together. I think it's fair to say that the fun part of this epic day was the bit after we landed. From there we jumped on a train for a few stations and then waited for our lift to Drammen. Everything was newly covered with snow and looked clean and white and storybook pretty. While we waited the children played in snow around the carpark in crocs, as you do.
After just long enough to get cold feet and hands Harald arrived so we loaded up and drove to south to our new home-base in Drammen. I can't describe how pretty everything looked with snow - these photos don't do it justice at all.
Once we got home the snow was still too good to resist so despite extreme exhaustion the kids (ok, us too) spent a good hour or so digging and throwing and jumping in it. Jett only lasted until about 3pm when he took himself to bed and couldn't be roused until the following day. Zali had a snooze and then had enough energy to come for a long walk around the suburb and up into the forest behind the house where the lit ski-trails start from. We tried out all sorts of Norwegian indescribable & untranslatable snow toys - unfortunately we didn't have our camera so we don't have a record - and even more unfortunately we forgot the house key, so we had to wait until the grownups arrived home later to left us in again. No matter, I'm sure Zali will now never forget the day she was allowed to climb up to the snow covered flat roof of the house and toss snowballs down at innocent, unsuspecting people minding their own business below (humph).
