Ski-Every-Day team

Zali rejoined the Ski-Every-Day team today (she missed yesterday) and we repeated the 6k loop from the olympic ski stadium that we did the other day. On the weekend it seems that every Norwegian and their dog goes out for a ski in the forest - so it was a bit like the Bondi to Tamarama walk on a hot day. I'm happy to report that today we actually overtook two parties. One was a nice 85 year old lady who was quite chatty and she said had been a bit sick lately (sigh) and I also have to admit that we didn't manage to completely drop her so she overtook us again later as Zali paused at the top of a hill. The other party was a family with two toddlers (on their own skis of course) who we left in our snow DUST. Good on us! - no longer the worst skiers on the trails!  Actually Jett is rocketing along nowadays while Zali is still a bit more cautious and a bit less keen. 

We came across a campsite which looked really fun - something I guess you can manage if you have a bit more time and equipment! 

We also saw some cute little cabins tucked away in the forest. So cute.

In terms of other things we ticked off today, after two attempts we managed to go for an ice-skate on a proper rink - the smooth ice was really nice after yesterday.  It was the period of the day where anyone can come and skate for free so the rink was littered with tiny 6 year old ice hockey players (check out the background of these photos). They have so much padding there is no risk of them hurting themselves if they fall, which would be the ideal way to learn!

Many of them wore numbered tops so I'm assuming they actually play games. They obviously have really good skating skills so I wonder if they play like a normal  under 6 soccer teams would play - everyone surrounding the puck/ball, and no-one playing as a team. It would be interesting to watch actually.  I'm happy to report we were also not the worst on the ice today -there were some toddlers and some people who have maybe moved here from other countries.
