Perfect

What could be more perfect than a weekend of great orienteering and a house full of great company (including visitors dropping by) in St Helens. Nothing - we're very lucky.

I've been looking forward to this championship weekend for a while as we're finally able to re-use some of the maps that Rob P made which we used in January but then they were embargoed again until now.   We all had pretty decent runs on both days but Jett won the (resident Tasmanian) open mens class today in the Middle Distance championships which is a great result - finally knocking off Jon and some others in a fairly technical and fun area.  

After the long race on Saturday we went to Beer Barrell beach to stand in the cold water  - Jon insists we stay in for 20 minutes which sounds worse than it is because your legs go number after about 3 painful minutes so you can't feel anything anyway. We did keep getting sloshed from the incoming waves though.

I'm staying up here this week as we are getting the gravel driveway concreted - so I had to say goodbye to everyone as they left this afternoon which is always a bit sad. I consoled myself by going for a paddle in the almost perfect conditions though:

This week I have a few things on my to do list including going to see the new barbie movie at the St Helens cinema - on that topic, Jon has been rocking some barbie themed colours of late:

I also have to drag myself up a huge hill to a set of rocks at Bells Marsh where we ran on Saturday.  Jett put his compass down to tie up his shoelace during the race and unfortunately left it there. Hopefully I can find it. I'll also need to go for a few more paddles to make driving the boat all the way up here worthwhile:

Actually not quite everyone has left - Paul is still here as he has plans to play golf tomorrow  morning then drive home.
