The table..

A few weeks ago (on my way home from St Helens actually), I stopped by St Canice Avenue as mum had asked me to bring a small table down to her new house.

It sounded like an easy job - I backed the car up to the front door to minimise the carrying and located the table in the dining room.

'Easy' I thought to myself, I just have to get it through the living room and out the front door.   Only when I lugged it to the living room door I discovered that no matter what angle I tried it, it wouldn't fit through. Aargh.

So then I reversed back into the dining room and decided to attempt the back door, which required a twenty point turn to get it through the tight corner and through the narrow laundry.

That's where I discovered the back door is very very narrow.   Back I went through the laundry to the dining room.  Remembering that we used to be able to go in and out the dining room windows I figured I could lift it straight out there, but as soon tried to pull them open, the rotting windowsills started to fall apart - so rather than risk having to leave the house unsecured I abandoned that idea.

That just left one more exit to try - the 'new' (30 year old) living room.  That required me to go through two more doors and down some steps just to get it there.. but once there, after trying every single possible angle, it eventually made it through and out to freedom! Yay!

Then I discovered that the legs were just too tall to fit into the car and close the back:

So now the table is back in the new living room.
