St Helens firsts #2

Kingston has a population of over 10000 people and we don't have a cinema (I guess because we are supposed to schlep into Hobart to watch a movie).  St Helens has a population of 2500 and it has just re-opened its little cinema (called "Easy, Tiger") - so Jo and I went today to catch the late afternoon session of the latest Spiderman movie.

It was great - the seats are really comfy and there is so much leg room you couldn't put your legs over the seat in front even if you tried.   We actually checked out the venue on Saturday and brought some discounted opening weekend merchandise from their little shop - so we both wore our brand new (and much coveted) Easy Tiger hoodies to today's screening. 

The cinema has 48 seats which meant that there was still room for 46 people in our session - hopefully that's not a sign of the overall profitability of the venue - although I suspect the cinema is intended to be just a small part of the microbrewery and eatery venue that is also being developed on site.
