Back in St Helens Day 1

It's sooo nice to be back here after what seems like ages (but really only 4 weeks).  Jon and Shirley drove up on Friday morning with the car loaded with plants and tools while I drove up on Friday afternoon after work with the car loaded with the rest of the plants and tools and all the other stuff we needed to bring. It was around 6.30 when I got to Scamander but I decided I had time to go for a run at Winifred Curtis Reserve - I'm glad I did as it was a delightfully nice and flat place to jog around after a day of working and driving:

It was late when I finally arrived in St Helens, but there was still enough light to see how the garden had fared since we planted everything last visit.  Happily most of the plants are doing well. The exceptions were a few I didn't put a protective cage around and of course the bastard walabies got to them! We probably only need to replace one though.

Jon was already out the back preparing his citrus espalier area - there's a few days work to go on that but hopefully it will be complete when he leaves on Tuesday.
