Zali goes to a creche which is part of a much bigger school. As such, her class of 3-4 year olds are allowed to participate in the school sports day which is happening tomorrow - how exciting! For the last three weeks they've all been 'training' for the event with focus on skills such as ; running in your lane, running in the right direction and not heading off as a group in the relay race. I think the teachers have also been doing some mental preparation focusing on tricky topics such as 'what do I do if I don't win', ' what if I need to go to the toilet before my race' and no doubt incorporating visualisation techniques so they can achieve a clean run through the witches hat course. It should be fun and Jon and I will be dragging ourselves from work to witness the occasion. I'm a bit worried about the Teddy Bear race I saw on the program though as I doubt the teddies have been doing such rigourous physical or mental training as their owners - Zali's teddies doing even bother getting out of bed in the morning so I'd be worried about heart attacks and the like and I'd also hate to see an overweight, unfit and mentally unprepared Big Ted take out his frustrations on say an innocent yet speedy Care Bear in the event of a crushing defeat. Although it would make for good blog photos. Speaking of which, this one below is of Zali and Jett's new (second hand) Bobby Car - the coolest kids car thingies in the world.
