If you are thinking that one of these cakes is not like the other ones, you are probably female, and you are also right. The picture on the left is the picture I was sent by a customer with a request for a quote. I thought the cake looked big and tricky (and a bit bodgy to tell the truth) so I emailed back with a reasonably high price and suggested some other cheaper alternatives but my customer was adamant she wanted the cake in the picture as it was the only thing her fiance had taken an interest in and that was the one he had chosen. I had let them know that I couldn't copy the original exactly which left me free to make a few improvements to the original design including slight alterations to the colours which I recon helps a LOT. Also I recon my angles, although not perfect, are better than the original, and I'm happy with the light pink top on the top tier which is actually to cover up a tear in the icing but makes it look heaps better too (that is secret cake business so don't tell anyone). I can see why the original looked a bit bodgy now as covering high tiers is really tricky - there are six individual cakes iced as three. All in all, despite my high quote, she got a good deal as I spent a long time on this cake this week and (if I do say so myself) it looked great at Moorilla where the rest of the room was setup with a sedate white and silver theme.
