End of my season

Today was the last game of my soccer season - thank goodness. Now I like soccer and I enjoy playing but what is becoming increasingly obvious is that whilst you are never too old or young or unfit to go orienteering,  you CAN be too old to play soccer. I'm not saying I've quite reached that point but goodness it's not far away!  The other thing about orienteering is that the whole family can go and enjoy it, whereas I'm thinking Jonno didn't reeeally enjoy  watching my game today (the only one he has seen all year mind you)  partly because Port were playing in a televised cliff hanger against Geelong and partly because soccer is a long game and once you add on travel times, warming up, half time and hobbling back to the car afterwards it is a long afternoon. So either the family gets dragged along, or I leave them for 3 hours which, even for me (I'm always looking for a bit of quality 'cathy time'), does start to be a bit of a drag if you know what I mean. I think we might all be happier if I just nipped out for a run instead on a Sunday afternoon - and I'd be able to walk better afterwards!  Having said that it has been cool playing with my cousin Alice who I'd never really spent any time with before, and Mum watched occasionally which was nice, and even granny and grandfather watched almost all our games from their car - although I suspect there is a lot of snoozing happening in there during our games.

 I wish I'd played more soccer in my youf but I guess that was never going to happen as I was always orienteering and orienteering is my favourite sport.  Too many sports, not enough time.   

So anyway - aside from the orienteering and soccer this weekend, we did a bit of housey stuff, some painting, planting plants, two trips to the hardware store, twice etc etc.  It's been nice to not to be making or delivering cakes this week!
