In the week after we moved in we had some really cold clear nights which tested our resolve to do without a heat-pump* and also left a heavy layer of frost on our new garden. Zali and Jett have really been enjoying pottering around outside and the combination of the house sort of being on one level, and the cork tiles instead of carpet means that going inside or out involves a lot less committment. I'm a carpet fan but I can see a LOT of advantages in this! Speaking of which, did I meantion we got our bond back from the old place - amazing. The carpet cleaner guy must have worked miracles and mum's clever disguising of the damage zali did with scissors to the vertical blinds and my convenient placing of manuals over the scratches on the stainless steel must have done the trick.
