If there's one thing that Zali loves more than getting to watch me play soccer (!!) it's being allowed to 'help' me deliver cakes. Our general routine is that we park outside the venue, go inside and find the function room, then I sit her down next to the cake table and she 'guards' the bits of the cake as I bring them all in from the car. She takes her duties very seriously and insists on carrying the empty containers back out to the car when we are finshed. She also loves to check out the flowers and all the other fun stuff which can be found at wedding recptions.
Anyway - this is tonights cake. It's not particularly spectacular in itself (although I hope the bride will think so), but the fact that I managed to get it delivered today is - (after 3 nights in melbourne followed by two almost full-time work days). PHEW. one to deliver tomorrow then we're off to St Helens for 3 days of orienteering - I'm really looking forward to it. But of course I won't be able to blog for a few days but I hope you regular blog-viewers have forgiven me now for my weeks absence - look - four posts in one day - a record surely! I'd go for five but unfortunately the day is going to click over to tomorrow any minute now which means two things 1) it's late and I should be in bed and 2) I'd really better go and pack before it gets too much later.
