Family labour is the best labour

Today Paul and I knocked off some big to-do-list items. The major reasons we were here this week in fact.

While I worked inside until the early afternoon Paul worked on hole digging and post placing for the bike wash area.  I'll put up some finished photos tomorrow but this was my view gazing from my ivory tower onto the worker below:

Then I finished work and joined him on the other major project, making a nice entrance area that also serves to remove some of the gravel from the feet of the people coming inside!  While this only took a day or so to complete (we started it yesterday) it was a lot of thinking and planning time, as well a bit of work getting materials from various places including Longley for the special wide pavers, Bunnings for the wood, the East Coast Landscape supplies for the rocks and crushed base. 

I think it looks really nice - I still need to paint the edging to match the wood on the side of the house but we didn't have the right colour so that's a job for next time:

Afterwards I sent the worker to the fish and chip shop so we could reward ourselves with delicious dinner on the deck.
