Summer adventures roll on

I've done the Cathedral Rock loop twice before by myself, so it was nice to do it a) with company and b) in perfect weather. 

We jog-hiked the mossy and green section by the river, then endured the steep and steady climb up to the top of Cathedral Rock. The views were great.

Then we did the upsy-downsy traverse along the ridge. 

Before dropping slowly, then steeply down to Wellington Falls. I had warned everyone to wear long leg covering for the half an hour of bush bashing on the overgrown section of track, so it was a nice surprise that track clearing had happened and there was only a short section of scratchy bush. 

As it's been so dry the river above the falls was as calm and gentle as I have seen it. It wasn't warm though - but it looked so beautiful it still managed to tempt Jo and Miriam in for a refreshing swim.

After the break we scrambled up the bank to view the not-very-exciting falls from the lookout on the other side of the river.

After a short jog back to the pipeline track we were only 3k from home with a crazy descent down the Siphon Track ahead of us, popping us out back at North West Bay River for the final few ks back to the car.  All up it was a great little back yard adventure!
