It was a bad week for running but a good week for indoor projects - well indoor-ish anyway.  First up was making some bike racks to attach to the garage wall in St Helens:

I followed a pattern from the internet - I hope they work but if they don't at least they only cost the price of some bolts as the rest was made with scrap wood.  

Then I turned another of Dad's kauri planks into another bench seat: 

 The wood always looks pretty dodgy to start with but I've built a router sled to flatten and take off the outer layer.  And on the subject of wood, I investigated making something similar from cheap pine from Bunnings but I worked out that it would cost 300 for the pine alone. The PINE!  So instead I just used the hundred year old rare NZ kauri and made something much nicer for the cost of the varnish & brackets.

Then it's just a matter of a lot of sanding and finally varnishing.  I didn't want to fill the holes on this one.

This new one will go near the front door. The other two I've made live in the bedrooms with fluffy sheepskin:
