Penguin Weekend

When we saw that there would be some events in and around penguin for the June long weekend I jumped at the opportunity to stay in the cute little town and booked a lovely place with waterfront views right in the town.  At least that’s what I thought I booked. When I checked back a number of weeks later I realised I’d managed to book the one apartment in the building with a ‘park’ view, rather than a sea view.  I’m not sure how I missed it but the double bed was also oddly positioned in the large living room – set up rather like a bedroom showroom.  

Nevertheless the weekend was really fun and the apartment was spacious and cosy, with excellent views of the park across the road! The orienteering events were really enjoyable and despite running straight into a tree and smooshing my nose which I had to suffer staring at on all my zoom calls for the following week.  The weekend finished with a run around the Tasmanian Arboretum which is one of my favourite areas to visit – it’s nothing special for orienteering but it’s just pretty and nice.
