Slow Progress..

Before we left Australia we looked at the map of the North Island and vaguely decided on a plan which would see us cover a fair slice of it in the 8 nights we have available before we head to Rotorua for the family reunion.  Only it turns out we are very slow, and there is a lot to see so at the rate we are going, we will need about 2 years to camper van our way around the North Island.  Goodness knows how long we'll need if we ever decide to go around Australia. I guess the signs were there when it took us 2 hours to leave the supermarket the other day.

Yesterday we started with a beach walk, checked out some water falls, stopped in some parks, self guided ourselves in some glow worm caves,  went mountain bike riding and then spent an hour at an adventure park (more on this later). There are so many little stops to make (and we skipped most of them) which can easily absorb a happy half a day or more that it's really hard to make any actual geographical progress - in fact I think we're now only about 50kms due north of where I had originally intended us to camp on the very first night..Oh well.
